Thank GODS it's the weekend... spent two days with poundy skull of migraine doom which was odd since I usually only get them when I'm super stressed out. Steph sat with me through the wierd seeing-shit-and-numb-body-parts bits and petted my head and told me stories about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Full moon tomorrow... have plans for a somewhat Bacchanalean starting-new-portfolio ritual involving body paint, shower crayons, wine, fruit, and chocolate.
I get to see emmy 1 week from now yay yay
There will be three of us in the backseat of my car for eight hours each way. It is lucky we are all cuddly sorts. |

Watched Million Dollar Baby today, which is fun if you like ANGST AND DEATH. Jaysus they ought to put warning labels on these things.
I went sink hole swimming yesterday. It's sooo nice. I'll take maybe getting eaten by reptiles over chlorine any day.
Happy fireworks day. We went and sat in the parking lot of a fan and lighting store and watched them through a hole in the trees. |

The news:
Newspaper too wet to salvage.
Strung 108 rose beads and a garnet on pink thread today
I hearteth the library
I got a stack of books on Iceland and an Old English textbook among other things
In Iceland, there was a lava flow coming to block off the harbor so they sprayed it with seawater and probably because of this it hardened and actually made the harbor better!
Went to Shrek 3 with old aquaintance from Havana circle. SO AWKWARD. Movie a bit crap too, but what do you expect?
I've got an interview to be a baker. A baker with benefits, which is exactly like a friend with benefits only with less sexing up and potential for drama and more health insurance and potential for bread.
Ok I know there's a couple people on my friends list who are interested in cloth pads and the like, Lunapads is doing a promo where they will send you something if you link them in your blog. So here is the link for the promo if you want to try it out:

Know what I'm really into lately? Iceland. Who wants to go there with me? Look, there are turf houses:

It is too hot to live and be a person... this is getting ridiculous.
I went to an FSU movie-on-the-lawn night with Melissa the other day. They fed us free barbeque which was awesome. Most of the kids have that identical-straightened-hair-clean-cut look about them what made me feel as if I was in a strange other universe... and I got asked if I was a freshman a lot. I think I forget how young I am.
Today Tyler gave me two easels and a pile of picture frames. |

Art kid quotes:
Sydney: "I have a joke. How many strings on a ukelele? FOUR!" Dean: .....that's not a joke. Sydney: It was on a Pop Tart. What do you expect?
"When they smack a new baby's bottom it's not called Baby CPR. It's called the Spank of Life!"
"Aaaargh! An ant is on me! This is why I'm going to college! There are no ants in college.....I hope." |

I will never get as much done in a day as I intend. But I did complete my Grove God picture (or his son rather, as he came out very young-looking) and enter him in a contest.

It was a great food day- fresh cherries and nectarines, and I made fabulous tempeh with orange sauce and teeny baby baked squashes for dinner. I'm trying to eat things that make me feel good as opposed to things like ravioli and instant potatos that make me feel slow and squidgy. My downfall is snacky food- anyone got ideas for quick-to-eat deliciousity that is non-soul-sucking?
Cleaned my room and even powder-vaccumed the carpet with baking soda.
I went to the library and got a stack of books that are overwhelmingly and unapologetically foofy. I'm secure enough in my fierce pirate lassitude that I'll read chick lit if I wanna. Also checked out Sister Wendy's Story of Painting. I don't think there's an art history student alive who doesn't love Sister Wendy a little bit.
I have a garland of lavender fake flowers round my ankle. Lalala. |

I'm in the middle of painting an orange grove god and finishing my little morpheus mask (I should have pictures up soon) and cleaning out my closet and my sister's been living on my floor , needless to say the place is a disaster zone. Oh, for an actual studio!
I'm in the middle of City of Bone, Cassie Clare's book. It's entertaining, and she sneaks in little references to her own fanfic. "still not king" indeed. I don't care about the Shadowhunter Clave, I'm reading it to see who hooks up.
Tonight watched Nightmare Before Christmas with Bohemian Rhapsody on instead of the sound. Excellent good. |

Ok so screenprinting is the funnest thing that was ever fun and now I want to go into business. Everyone in my family is decked out in hedgehogwear. My next screen will be better- I will use actual mesh instead of a manky old stocking.
I have to get my room under control before I go out of town. Sudden bursts of creation in a minimal space= cluttered and cavelike living conditions. |

You're Prufrock and Other Observations!
by T.S. Eliot
Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you've really heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.
Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.
